Car Door Making Noise When Opening

What is causing this and does it mean big trouble soon.

Common steps to stop the squeak. On my 99 z28 it would act up every few months more when cold. It feels fine like it s not loose or anything it s just really loud and annoying. The sound of a car door opening and closing.

If you compressor turns on and the low side pipe going into the firewall of the engine compartment is getting cold around 30 40 degrees and you are not getting the same temperature air out of the dash vents then you have a vent ducting or fan problem. Like you said the door doesn t catch no rub at the fender etc. When the driver side door is opened there is a clunk sound about half way through the swing. If you have air flow but it is not cold check the blend door for operation first.

The door check is what holds the car door to the frame and keeps the door from closing once it is opened. It often collects grime and dust which can create a noise when you open the door. It is another area where you may hear the squeaking noise which can be caused by rust or dirt buildup. I know on mine the door hinge was making the popping.

Those noises are normal. When the door is closed there is a couple clunks then a thud. But man that spring can make a pretty awful pop noise. Unusual noises coming from inside the door are one of the first symptoms of a potential problem with a power door lock actuator.

It does the same thing in the same place as i close it. The sound is coming from the front of the door. My drivers side door makes a loud popping noise when it reaches a certain point as i am opening it.
